I also broke Cait (who I made to be my LESBIAN WIFE BECAUSE SHE’S AWESOME) the first time I had her enter some power armor. Now she will never exit the power armor AND there’s a weird graphical glitch that makes the shoulder pauldrons kinda float a foot higher than where they should be. :’(

To get her to exit it, choose the talk option and then “Exit Power Armor.” Took me forever to figure that out.

Yep, every time I do that she looks at me like I’m an idiot.

Oh, damn, that sucks!

What I hate most is that I can’t get her to repair her own power armor, or at least give me the broken pieces when she gets out. I always forget and then have to go through the whole workshop animation twice before I can actually fix her stuff.

I like having the flame paint on her, but I think I’m going to armor it now since she can’t stop throwing herself in harm’s way.

What made me mad was when the game ate my 18th power armor frame. I got in the armor, then the HUD disappeared and I couldn’t get out - and zooming out showed my character with the power armor pieces and core floating in space and stretched to my character’s skeleton. What eventually fixed it was pulling the pieces off the core into inventory (since it’s an item you’re wearing... sort of), and climbing into another frame. POOF, frame gone. CURSE YOU BETHESDA NOW IT’LL TAKE LONGER TO HAVE 20 FULL SETS

20 sets... Dang. I currently have four, but that’s mainly because I like to wear mine around. So when I find one, I can’t get into it.

Okay, sure, I could leave mine there, take the other home, and then follow the marker back, but I... have no idea why I don’t do that.

Nick valentine or nothing. What power armor are you using? I’ve spent the last month tracking down two full suits of XO-1 armor. I have like 3 spare torsos though lol.

Full X-01, except the torso is that special one you get from the lab with the chemicals. I’m not sure it’s really any better than an X-01 torso (hell, it may be worse) but it has a star by its name, so it must be good.

The special torso ?

I’ve got... let’s see. Two sets of Raider, two sets of X-01, six? sets of T60, three sets of T51, a set of mishmash, and the remainder is T45. Or something like that. Most of the T60 sets are BOS knight or paladin, save for an Atom Cats set, the T51s I have in... I think one each of the Hot Rod schemes?, the X-01s are Shark and EMP, and the T45s are things like Minuteman, VaultTec, and so on. I need to do a set of something (probably T60 since I have the most spare of it, I think) in Winterized. I’ve got something like a hundred cores for all this. My younger brother promised to direct me to two-three more frames that he’s found that I haven’t glommed yet, so that should get me to 20. If not (or if, regardless), I’ve got the caps and supplies to buy another two frames, I think.

I’m level 57, I think. 290-some locations discovered, etc. etc.

I know that glitch. The game partly failed to register that she entered the power armor, so as far as it is aware, she is wearing the power armor pieces, but not the frame. It’s as stupid as it sounds. The only possible fix I know is to have her enter another power armor, if the game will let you. That will delete the frame she *was* wearing, and probably any pieces equipped to it. Horrible.

Cambridge polymer labs. You can run into an Eyebot that will put it on your map near Concord. They were conducting research into coatings, and you can finish that research and get a special chest piece.

The Cambridge Polymer Labs/piezowhatever chest piece is, I think, a T51.

Had Valentine walking around on the ceiling of an burried church in a suit of power armour, was pretty weird.

Didn’t think about trying to command her to enter another suit. I’ll give it a shot, thanks!

I still haven’t seen anything on the level of one glitch in Skyrim, though - when the game was spawning people for the attack on Whiterun, it started spawning a NAMED NPC instead of one of the Stormcloak guys. Over and over. A named NPC who in his own quest was dead. So I think some of them were dead and some weren’t. Oh, and some of them were embedded in the terrain and others were flying. Basically the game chose the seige of Whiterun as the time to figuratively drop its drawers and go around yelling WOOO WOOOO.

One a friend of mine encountered was more fucked up than that, if you can imagine. An enemy attacking his character did a beheading animation at one point but the game failed to kill his PC outright. So... his character had no head. He could pick up his own head in an area cell and move it around like any other manipulable object, and every time he fast-traveled... plop. His head, at his feet.

What the deal with piper as a companion can I still have dogmeat? he kills people and looks cool in his dog armor but I cant imagine a newspaper reporter being much help in fights even as hot as she is.

She’s not bad. She’s really nice and logical, though. That makes her the perfect companion for me in the real world, but in the game, I prefer playing like Cait... She likes it when I demand bribes, steal things, etc. It’s more fun than just doing everything for free and making everyone happy.
